The goals and objectives of the Educational Resource Planning Steering Committee include:
- At the request of the EVSC Board of School Trustees and the Superintendent of the EVSC, the Steering Committee will administer and guide the Educational Resource Planning initiative to ensure a successful process and comprehensive, well-defined conclusion.
- Review applicants and options for community participation on the Community Education Committee with input as needed from the Superintendent of the EVSC to ensure that the committee represents a broad base of interests and perspectives from the community-at-large.
- Assist in the ongoing planning process of the Community Education Committee to ensure smooth and strategically-planned meetings.
- Study up-to-date quantitative date, the latest national trends and innovative broad-based perspectives in educational resources planning for the Community Education Committee to use in formulating their final considerations to the EVSC Board of School Trustees and the Superintendent of the EVSC.
- Act as a resource for the facilitators and consultants of the Educational Resource Planning initiative to provide input from a local perspective on issues affecting the community-based planning process.
- Keep the EVSC Board of School Trustees and the Superintendent of the EVSC apprised of the progress from the Community Education Committee via monthly reports.
- Work with the facilitators and consultants to keep the public fully informed of the progress of the Community Education Committee through a well-planned public relations initiative.
- Notify the planning coordinator, facilitators and consultants of any change in policy or special directives that may materially affect the process of the Community Education Committee.
